Our away win against Bournemouth was a fantastic result against a very good side, however Arsenal’s emphatic home win against City reminded us they are the real deal.
Arsenal haven’t really got going yet, was this their turning point?
Listen, we’re in a great position. Six points clear with a game in hand. We are favourites and rightfully so. But, I can’t help but feel that many fans ruled Arsenal out a while ago when in reality they have comfortably been our biggest threat.
Their impressive 5-1 win against City should serve as a reminder that they will continue to chase us down. Admittedly, they have been disappointing this season, especially going forward. They don’t seem as creative as they have been in the last two years and perhaps rely too much on set pieces. But even with Saka out injured, they are the type of team that can grind out a 1-0 win because of how good they are defensively.
Unfortunately for us, I can see them going on a good run from now until the end of the season.
Liverpool don’t need to worry about Arsenal’s results.
Fortunately for us, we’re in a fucking good position. As mentioned, 6 points clear with a game in hand means we only need to worry about ourselves.
Sure, Arsenal are a threat. But it’s time we stop hoping that they are going to drop points and that someone is going to do us a favour. We’re top of the league because of how good we’ve been this season. And we have to make sure that end the season just as strongly. If we do that, then Arsenal won’t have a chance.
Arsenal are the real deal, a fantastic side, but if we focus on ourselves and get the job done, then we’ll win this title!
