UEFA has introduced a new ‘value pillar’ system that combines broadcasting revenue with historical performance. This system distributes approximately €825 million through two main components
Broadcasting Market Share
The distribution is based on each country’s TV market value, with French teams currently positioned to benefit most due to their expensive broadcast deal. For example, Paris Saint-Germain could receive around €33.5 million from this component alone.
Historical Performance
This element considers each club’s European results over the previous 10 years:
- Highest-ranked team receives €12.4 million
- Lowest-ranked team receives €350,000
- Teams in between receive amounts on a sliding scale
The total prize money available for performance-related achievements has increased by 33% compared to the previous season.
